What to Expect
This Is Active, Collaborative Care
At Recover and Rebuild Massage, I believe the body is designed to heal — sometimes it just needs the right input.
This is not traditional massage.
You won’t spend the entire session lying still on a table.
You will move.
You will participate.
You will notice changes in real time.
Healing works best when your body is involved.
Concussion Is a Whole-Body Experience
A concussion is never “just in the head.”
If you were hit in a car accident, your chest may have absorbed force from the seatbelt.
If your foot jammed into the brake, that force may still be affecting your low back, neck, or head.
If you landed hard while riding a dirt bike, that impact can echo through your system long after the event.
Pain is often not located at the root cause.
We look at the full picture.
Treatment Style
Sessions may include:
Targeted manual therapy
Movement-based assessment and correction
Craniosacral or nervous system regulation techniques
Lymphatic support
Kinesiology taping when appropriate
Simple exercises or mobility work for home
This is deep, precise work — but not “no pain, no gain.”
More pressure is not better.
The goal is change, not intensity.
Who This Is For
Athletes recovering from concussion
Individuals with lingering post-concussive symptoms
Clients with chronic or unresolved injury
People who have “tried everything” and are willing to approach healing differently
Who This Is Not For
Relaxation-only massage
Passive treatment without participation
“No pain, no gain” mindset
Your First Session (60 Minutes)
Your first visit is focused and investigative.
You’ll complete intake forms ahead of time so we can use your session to work — not paperwork.
We’ll discuss:
Injury history (even old injuries matter)
Concussion history
Current symptoms
Movement patterns
You may be asked to:
Get on and off the table
Walk
Perform simple movements
Move while I work on you
Share what you’re feeling in your body
When gravity and movement are removed, important information is missed.
Your body tells us more when it moves.
What to Wear
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting workout-style clothing.
You’ll be moving, and I need access to work through clothing and occasionally on skin — without unnecessary exposure.
If you’re ready to work with your body — not against it — I’d love to help you recover and rebuild.
After Your Session
Most clients feel:
Clearer
Lighter
More mobile
Less head pressure
Less joint restriction
Occasionally mild soreness or fatigue can occur as your body integrates changes.
Some clients experience significant relief in one session.
Others require a series — especially if symptoms are longstanding.
We adjust based on your goals and response
